Workshop Description

With 30 solo and many juried group exhibitions to his credit, Greg Biolchini’s  list of shows is testament to his strong national reputation.  After winning his third national award at the National Arts Club in New York City, Greg was awarded Master Pastelist status by the Pastel Society of American.  He has been featured in The Art of Pastel Portraiture, The Best of Pastel and Painting with Pastels, as well as The Artists Magazine and The Pastel Journal.

This five-day pastel workshop is designed for beginners through advanced painters.  Students will work from their favorite photos with lots of individual attention and teacher demonstrations, and have an opportunity to work from the model (portrait/figure) during weekend sessions.

Greg encourages questions at any time and creates a fun learning environment.

Greg says:  “I  teach the simplest, fastest and   most direct methods for creating successful paintings.”

MATERIALS LIST

(Greg suggests that participants order supplies two weeks prior to workshop.)

Pastels: The pastels I recommend are Great American, Schminche, Sennelier, Terry Ludwig, Diane Townsend, Unison, and Mount Vision Pastels. These pastels are most compatible with this wet and dry technique.

For your convenience, do not bring excessively large sets of pastels. I paint with the 75 stick Workshop Set of Mount Vision. They are high quality, large, inexpensive pastels. (Order from www.mountvisionpastels.com (1-800-932-3108).
You can order all art supplies from
www.dakotapastels.com (1-888-345-0067) and www.jerrysartarama.com (1-800-8278478.)
Note: When ordering pastels, get sets of no more than 150 sticks. If you already have pastels of any brand, you can use those.

Pastels of your choice. All brands are compatible with each other.
