Workshop Description:
Create a garden filled with beautiful flowers! Birgit will focus on a variety of different flowers including the paper like quality of the Matilija Poppy, luscious Red flowers, White Tulips, water drops on flowers, among others. You will learn how to build depth, add drama, and build the magic of dimensional illusion by adding water drops. Birgit shares her techniques and color combinations. You will learn how to control the application of watercolor to create large smooth washes of color for the petals. You will see how to interpret a flower without adding every detail. Birgit provides reference material and sketches but you are welcome to use your own material if preferred. Some knowledge of watercolor is helpful. This class is open to all skill levels, including beginners.
